Terms of Service

What we provide

• A home server — as a ready-made box, or a pre-loaded drive for your own computer
• Setup guides and email support
• The optional Connected subscription: remote access, sharing, automatic updates
• You own your hardware and your data

What you're responsible for

• Using the box legally
• Securing your data — we help, but ultimately it's yours
• Backing up your data (we strongly recommend this)
• Not using the box to attack others or break laws

Important limitations

“As is” service

We provide powerful tools, but can't guarantee perfection. Hardware can fail (covered by warranty). Software can have bugs (we help fix them). Internet can go down (not our fault).

Third-party software

The box runs open-source apps (Nextcloud, Immich, Jellyfin, and others). We don't control those projects — they have their own licenses. If they have bugs, we'll help, but we aren't liable for them.

Back up your data

You must back up your data. We're not responsible for data loss. Hardware fails, accidents happen — keep a second copy of anything important.

Liability

If something goes wrong, our maximum liability is what you paid us in the last 12 months. We're not liable for lost profits, business interruption, or indirect damages. Exception: we're always liable for gross negligence or intentional harm.

Not liable for

• Your internet going down
• Power outages or electrical damage
• Hardware failure beyond warranty
• Issues caused by modifying the system yourself
• Third-party software problems
• Data you didn't back up

Support

Included

• Setup help
• Troubleshooting the apps we installed
• Help with updates
• Hardware replacement under warranty (boxes)

Not included

• 24/7 emergency support
• Apps you install yourself
• Custom programming
• Recovering data you didn't back up

Your rights

You can: use the box however you want (legally), modify it at your own risk, cancel the subscription anytime, and own all your content forever.

You can't: resell logout.cloud services without permission, use the box for illegal activity, or attack other systems.

If things go wrong

1. Talk to us first — we'll try to fix it
2. If that fails, binding arbitration
3. Small claims court is always available

Governing law: New Jersey, USA.

Leaving

You can leave anytime. Keep your hardware and your data — everything keeps working at home without us. You're responsible for your own maintenance after.

We can end service if: you violate these terms, use the box illegally, don't pay for the subscription you're using, or abuse our people.

The bottom line

Our promise: powerful tools, real privacy, honest limitations, and help when you need it.

Your promise: use it legally, keep backups, and accept that technology isn't perfect.
